What was the highlight of Hotel Quinta das Vistas

Stunning, beautiful and lovely staff!

The views, the interiour and the exteriour - fabulous! Stunning! And the great service, especially when we missed our connecting flight and finally made it there about 9 hours later and we got to have some breakfast just as they were closing. Thank you! Quiet and peaceful. The bus connection with the city centre was brilliant. Google maps help with the schedules.

The beds are pretty rock hard, the pillows old and hard feather pillows and one of our beds made so much noise when you moved that we both woke up every time the other person changed sleeping position.

The hotel is great, in terms of location is a bit far but it's ok if you have a car or take the bus

The hotels is very good, the facilities and staff.

The beds are the only thing I was very unhappy. Beds are not very soft, quite hard and my husband was bitten by mosquitos or something, every day he was more bitten. Also keep in mind the busses don't come in the expected time, so if you are planning to take the bus to move to the city center, always add a lot of extra time to your schedule plans. Walking I wouldn't recommend it, busses and cars drive so fast and it can be quite dangerous..

Comfortable and Peaceful

Nice ocean views with a large display of excellent food - the manager was attentive and cared to check on all the guests in the dining hall.

Maybe larger TV but this is very subjective. And a kettle with coffee tea sugar, and 2 bottles of drinking water on display- inside the room to be included would put the experience one notch higher.

Great price value. Not 5 star though. But it was obvious.

Look, its NOT a 5 star hotel, so if you're specifically looking for that, keep scrolling. However it is a really good price/value deal for a nice hotel, technically about 4 stars. Awesome views from the balcony, nice spacious rooms, great breakfast and pool.

Some of the equipment and furniture were very outdated, old and not functioning properly. The staff was okay, but a little bit grumpy when you ask for anything special. But overall not a big letdown.

Perfect. Good value for money

The hotel is clean and tidy with big rooms and nice views. The breakfast included was of good quality. The indoor and outdoor pools is a bonus. The staff was very professional and friendly

End of Sept into October is great value for money and weather is still hot.

This was out of season and the price was great value for money. Being out of season, the restaurant wasn't open in the evenings, but there are loads of good restaurants in town. Breakfast was great, also the swimming pools. Hotel is situated on the side of a steep hill in lovely gardens, so you get great views, but that means it's a steep 15-20 min walk down to the centre, and up again. Getting the local buses is not difficlt, though. Routes 10, 10A, 11, 14 & 92 go either past or nearby the hotel.

The view was good. Rooms were clean and very spacious.

The restaurant and bar was only opened for breakfast. We didn’t have an option to pay for lunch or dinner. Spider on the outside of the room entrance and lizards on the hallways

Very enjoyable.

Breakfast was ok, they did run out of items and took a while to replenish. Very short staffed and the ones they had in the restraint seemed stressed at times. They upgraded us on arrival to a suite which was nice. Staff very helpful.

Great location, horrible staff

Spacious room, lovely hot tub, perfect location. Easy access in and out of Funchal and ideal for fireworks viewing for new years.

This is probably one of the weirdest stays I have ever had at a hotel. The building, the rooms, the price, the spa all point at this being a more classy hotel. And at one point maybe it was. But it has not been up kept. Lots of lights out, motion sensors that are too far apart so you are walking down dark hallways often, lots of little issues. That are not really that big a deal but should be taken care of I would think. The service is what killed it for me. It was just none existent. Even the bartender acted like getting our drinks was a hardship. Every time I asked for anything I was to go get it and I was in a leg brace hobbling around. I was made to feel guilty for taking an elevator WEARING A MASSIVE BRACE AND LIMPING. Breakfast was very bland and there was a menu on the table to get custom orders but you had to chase down an employee who then had to go find someones else. Cooked to order food was just rearrangements of what was already available at the buffet with maybe one or two things added. We booked a message. The woman wrote it down said we were all set. Get back from our daytime adventures to a note saying that they couldn't actually accommodate us. Again mistakes happen but it was just indicative of this hotel's blatant disregard for its clientele, at least us. I would not stay here again.

The worst hotel I have ever stayed in around the world!

The view.

Awful experience. I parked my car in the guests parking lot and someone stole my car mirror. I complained at the reception and the group director (Salomé Gonçalves) said they had nothing to do with it. They said it was my problem, not theirs. I had to write an official complaint at the hotel and also go to the police station who are going to investigate. Besides this, the service was generally terrible, definitely not a 5 star hotel, or even close to it - 3 stars at best. The restaurant had 2 meals available, 1 fish dish and 1 meat dish. That was it! The same occurred for breakfast and not all ingredients were available from the extremely limited, single-option menu available. Croissants and plain yoghurts were not available and they wanted me to pay to get a glass of water when I had paid for breakfast in advance. Furthermore, the bedroom was not clean as there was a spider on top of my bed pillow and there was dust everywhere. The swimming pool was dirty and the gardens were not kept - grass was burnt and the pathways were covered by weeds. It looked and felt like a ghost hotel, with very limited staff who were rude (mostly composed of uneducated, low-level staff particularly at the restaurant who were constantly using bad words in front of customers and even children). It was terrible and I totally regret having paid for this stay. The hotel looks abandoned and pretty close to file for bankruptcy. I would not recommend anyone staying at this place for any kind of money. People are better off spending their money elsewhere. This place is a fraud.
